Confidence can be a very fragile thing. Mine is constantly shifting and disappearing and then coming back around. I feel like it's one of those things that varies depending on how your day or week has been. there are confident people but i doubt any person has never had a moment where they question themselves. we are all human at the end of the day.
My whole life I have moments where I am feeling so good with myself and there are times where i can't be in a room with another person. I struggled a lot growing up to feel confident with myself because I always found it difficult to "fit in". I cared too much about people thought about me and I had this need to make everyone like me. Everyone wants to be liked of course, but it's important to be your own confident self, unapologetically.
Finding my confidence did not happen over night. It happened over small moments. Saying no when I needed to and speaking up even when my voice shook. It's about letting go of the fear of judgement little by little.
Today, my confidence still has moments where it wobbles, and trust me, it still happens from time to time, despite the progress I've made. There are instances when self-doubt creeps in, I have thoughts that can undermine my sense of self-worth. However, during those challenging moments, I consciously remind myself that I am allowed to take up space in this world. I have every right to express my thoughts, feelings, and aspirations without feeling the need to shrink or diminish myself for the comfort of others.
Moreover, I acknowledge that showing up for myself is not just a privilege but a necessity. It means prioritizing my own needs and well-being, giving myself permission to pursue my passions, and embracing my individuality. This journey of self-acceptance is ongoing, and while it may not always be easy, I recognize the importance of being my own advocate. Each time I confront my insecurities, I grow stronger and more resilient. I remind myself that my voice matters, my presence is valuable, and I deserve to take up space just as much as anyone else. This self-affirmation has become a crucial part of my daily routine, helping me get through life's uncertainties.
Confidence is not something that you find once and never lose, it's something that you nurture.
Every time I choose myself, even in the smallest way, I rebuild my confidence!
Finally, confidence is not about never falling, it's about getting back up, every single time, and remembering who you are. And you, just as you are, are more than enough.
